CodePlex is (soon to be “was) a Microsoft hosted site for open-source software projects. They will be shutting down completely on December 15, 2017. If you are a developer at CodePlex you are most likely already aware of this matter and have taken the steps to take to migrate your projects. If you are like me, who enjoys using (and testing) some of the software that has been posted there (over the past 11 years), you are going to miss CodePlex. Appears, if the developers opt to, they can migrate their projects to GitHub.
Almost 11 years after we created CodePlex, it’s time to say goodbye. We launched CodePlex in 2006 because we, like others in the industry, saw a need for a great place to share software. Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of amazing options come and go but at this point, GitHub is the de facto place for open source sharing and most open source projects have migrated there.
