There are two groups of people: those who use their smartphones or tablets in the bathroom, and those lying about using smartphones and tablets in the bathroom….

July 16, 2017

Our smartphones (and tablets) are an extension of ourselves; and, as result, we take them to the bathroom. Here is a good read on “Stop taking your gadgets into the bathroom. Here’s why…“.

Yes, your smartphone likely carries more germs than a toilet.

Car Smartphone Holder That I Can Attest To

February 28, 2017

My previous post about the app, DailyRoads Voyager (see here), I use the Mpow CD Slot Car Mount Universal Cell Phone Holder to mount my phone (to use as a dashcam). Fortunately, my CD slot in my head unit is close to the top of the dash. Even if you have no intention of using your phone for a dashcam, this phone holder is an excellent choice. In my case, I never use CD’s and this mount has proven to be a good mount.

Simple Usage Modes

Just push the Mpow mount holder into the CD slot, it will get stuck firmly. Then place the metal plate between your device and it can hold your smartphone safely. 360 Degree Swivel Innovative ballhead construction allows you to quickly adjust to optimal angle in 360 degrees. No Blind Side.

Three-sided Clip

Three-sided cradle keeps your sensitive electronic devices firmly in place while still allowing full function. Two cushioned side grips keep your electronic device safe and secure, while a detachable ledge creates a resting shelf for additional support. Remove your device easily and quickly with a push-button release.

Wide Compatibility

Up to 3.9in locking range allows large phones with thick otter box. Phone models included: iPhone 5s/6/6s/6s Plus, HTC One, Google Nexus 4/5 P, Nokia Lumia 920/1020, and more.

Get The Android Auto Experience On Your Smartphone

November 8, 2016

Two years ago Android Auto was launched and was available only in certain model cars. Soon, through the Google Play Store, you will be able to get Android Auto for your Smartphone (Android 5.0 and later) as an app. Android Auto provides a “driver friendly interface to access the key stuff you need on the road ― directions, music, communications ― without the distraction of things that aren’t essential while driving”.  You can read more about this HERE and when it will become available.

Want An Inexpensive Smartphone? Get the LG Stylo 2

July 25, 2016

I recently moved my cellphone service to Cricket Wireless; and, part of the deal I got was the LG Stylo 2 smartphone (unlocked) for a straight out $80 (with no contract). I was reluctant to make the change from my Nexus 5 to the Stylo 2, but let me tell you, the Stylo 2 rocks. I am in love with this phone… With the Cricket service (owned by AT&T); not only has my coverage improved (and expanded), the addition of the Stylo 2 was just the icing on the cake. The Stylo 2 is a phablet size, quad core, 16GB (storage), 2GB (ram), Android Marshmallow phone (with SD slot), and a removable 3000mAh battery. The Stylo 2 also comes with a removable stylus, which allows you to do some really neat things. I have thrown everything at this phone and it has handled it. If you go to Amazon (CLICK HERE) you can see that this phone, which is relatively new to the market, is accumulating excellent ratings. Why pay $500 to $800 when you can get a really nice phone for $80, if you look around (typically this phone is sold for around $179 to $199 unlocked).

May 12, 2016

When performing a google search on your mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.); Google now gives you a search tab to look for apps. Of course you can go to Google Play to do the same thing, but this is pretty convenient; especially, if you are into apps (and software) as I am…

You can learn more about this new feature at Android Central
